Patience is not simply the ability to wait – it’s how we behave while we’re waiting ~Joyce Meyer
The Year of Focus: Week 51
Word of The Week: Wait
to remain inactive or in a state of repose, as until something expected happens
Remember as a child being told to wait, how time seemed to move so slowly. Or when we must wait in traffic, or a line to get in somewhere, or get out. It becomes uncomfortable to stay still when we are in constant motion. I have tried over the years to change my frustration to something of trust. To know that better things are on the other side of waiting.
Our miracle was never arriving at the shoreline safely, but instead of trusting and believing we would get there. And often with all the waiting, I wonder, what is the hurry? What are we trying to avoid by waiting. Sure, it feels like a waste of time when you are used to getting things done, but really, who is to say you don’t have to wait for something that is say, worth the wait?
I am practicing meditation, slowing down, and getting comfortable with being present. I think a part of that is accepting the uncomfortable moments that we want to push through. Sometimes the season of our lives is a season of waiting. But eventually, our spring will arrive.
