“Is prayer your steering wheel or your spare tire?
The Year Of Focus: Week 26
Word of the Week: Prayer
Prayer
a spiritual communion with God or an object of worship, as in supplication, thanksgiving, adoration, or confession.
There are days when prayer still feels difficult and I wonder, should I just practice when I feel this way, do it anyway? Like anything else I practice, can I get better with time? I was 29 when Ryan died at age 5. Losing him so young left me confused about God, and I never understood why my prayers were left unanswered? So to hear about someone saved by prayer left me cynical and has taken a lot of time for me to reshape a new relationship with God and Prayer.
Recently while reading the Focus book by Cleere Reaves, I was reminded of another common attribute of prayer. What would our lives look like if prayer became our way of life rather than our life support? I want to learn a daily prayer, not the common turn to prayer in crisis. Her words prompted a move in another way to make prayer a part of my daily life.
