We are linked in our humanity the way the earth holds a tree, so that tree can hold a nest, so that nest can hold a bird, so that bird can drop a seed that will in time give birth to the next tree.
Pushing On
Have you ever had an opportunity to do something considerate, or kind and as you hesitated, the moment slipped away. Overthinking creates a lapse in decision making, and once the moment is gone, it is gone. Sometimes these moments can linger in our thoughts, as we push on through life. The “what ifs” when we don’t act.
I remember years ago, hearing a woman crying in a parking lot by her car, I was about to walk over to her, but something held me back. Some awkward feeling or fear… my audacity to think that I could make a difference. Instead, I pushed on never knowing.
Sometimes fear keeps us from acting, even the fear of embarrassment. Or we are unsure how we can help, so we do nothing. But when we find community at our core of values, we recognize how staying socially involved helps forge lasting connection.
Writing helps me unravel the human side of emotions. Providing a look back to the person I once was, and the person I am today. All the bumps and bruises that helped softened me over time. A reminder of how everyone grows in different ways.
