A reminder of the light - Week 31

"Your always one decision away from a totally different life"

Week 31 - ( January 22nd - January 28th)

The circumstances in our lives lead us down some dark roads, a course that creates change propelling us towards a new purpose. Transformation manifested through loss, the shattering of faith and all the other detours are the pieces which have veiled my resolve, but that darkness is also a reminder of the light which still exists when we are guided with gratitude.

Tragedy does not arrive by choice; but once given the time to grieve, we learn to grow through it. I can recall a time during the early stages of grief when my father cautioned of the bitterness of loss, his reminder to resist the disdain that clouds our memories when we remain fastened in the depths of our pain. It was not until years later, after I could process my grief, that I understood his message.

Distance is required to discover blessings when in the eye of the storm, but eventually, as your courage awakens, you will begin to explore gratitude again.

Of course, it would be easier to never experience the pain of loss, but that would mean giving up the opportunity for love. Every day I take stock in the moments I am grateful for, adorning the pages of tiny notebooks with the gifts each day distributes, fully aware of the beauty in every day.

Gratitude is a practice that becomes a treasure to behold.
