Being Me: Week 32

August 4, 2019

"The greatest challenge in life is discovering who you are. The second greatest is being happy with what you find."

Being Me: Week 32 Who do you think you are

August theme: We are who we choose to be

There must be something about reaching your 50's, that wakes you up to life. To me, this is the reminder of the finite amount of time we are given, and even that time is not guaranteed. Life slips by and before you know it another year is gone.

When I think back to the years wasted in worry I cringe.  Worry of what the future held, what others thought of me. Instead of living my life I was busy being what I thought others wanted me to be.

I admire the people who stand up for who they are. People like Freddy Mercury, never apologized for the way he was, because that was all he knew. Even though the world, especially at that time, judged him so harshly.

Right now I am discovering the best version of myself in all that I do each day and recognize how my needs are just as valuable as others. My fears don't mean I can't try and fail and my opinion is always valid and worthwhile. Each day as  I honor the story of my truth I come closer to who I am meant to be.
