Being Me: Week 15 - Water and other things we need to grow

April theme - Water your roots so your soul can blossom

I have had a morning routine of drinking lemon water for several years now. It is the first thing I do upon waking. It is easy to do, and provides a positive start to my day. Every morning I cut a fresh lemon and squeeze it into my 32 oz Arbonne water bottle  then fill it with warm water. As I consume the water, I start the coffee, read my devotionals, and have finished the water by the time the coffee is ready.

Here are 15 other reasons to start your day with warm lemon water

  1. A rich source of vitamin C, lemon juice protects the body from Immune system deficiencies.
  2. Drinking lemon juice with warm water every morning helps in maintaining the pH balance of the body.
  3. With its powerful antibacterial properties, lemon juice helps fight infections
  4. Acts as a detoxifying agent.
  5. Helps with maintaining digestive health.
  6. Lemons are also a rich source of potassium, calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium.
  7. Helps fight common cold
  8. Lemon water is a popular remedy for skin problems from acne and rashes to wrinkles and dark spots.
  9. Lemon juice with warm water helps weight loss, promotes digestion and increases the metabolic rate.
  10. Lemon juice is also very effective at flushing toxins from the liver.
  11. Lemon’s help fight respiratory tract infections and sore throat.
  12. Lemon juice with warm water keeps the body hydrated, providing electrolytes to the body.
  13. Drinking lemon juice with warm water also helps reduce joint and muscle pain.
  14. Lemon juice with warm water is good for dental health and prevents gingivitis.
  15. Lemon juice with warm water helps with digestion.

This simple habit can transform your life.

According to Everyday Health, water does more than just quench your thirst and regulate your body's temperature. Keeping your body hydrated helps protect the spinal cord, and it acts as a lubricant and cushion for your joints. If you're not sure about your hydration level, look at your urine. If it's clear, you're in good shape. If it's dark, you're probably dehydrated.
