Live every day with intention

Being Me: Week 14 - Setting intentions

March theme - All you need is tea and warm socks

Being Me: uncovering the path to my purpose by following my hearts journey through simple daily tasks...

What are intentions? Unlike goals, intentions are centered on how you want to spend your days rather than specific goals like losing weight or exercising more. It is about a feeling from your heart on how you want an activity or the day to unfold. Intentions are how you want to show up in your life, regardless of external forces.

The other morning my daily devotional, One minute with God, reminded me that every person on the planet is kind of like a seed. A potential-packed package that needs the right environment to grow. Each day we make choices, create goals and set intentions to move towards that potential. When you look back, does every year look the same, or is that seed growing through choice and experience?

"Our intention creates our reality."  ~ Wayne Dyer

Intentions come from your heart. They are the direction to how you want to feel, or what you want to practice.  Simply put, intentions move your heart and soul in the same direction to bring purpose and fulfillment to each day.

"What you think, you become."

Intentions can be as simple as:

  • What are you grateful for
  • What makes you proud
  • What would you like to let go of
  • Finding peace or balance
  • Embrace change
  • Stay calm or focused

You can repeat the same intention daily, or set an intention for a specific task. What do you want to feel after you run or practice yoga or even after a long commute, the list is endless and the choice is yours?
