In talking with my favorite farmer up the road a few months back, he had mentioned that his birthday was December 15th, and, as any female would do, I put that in my memory for a later date, because I knew I would be going back to it!
Soon December was upon us, and I began counting down to his birthday. What do you get someone for their 89th birthday? I kept asking myself this question...  but...

I don't think I'll ever get bored on visiting New York City. There is always something to see, always something going on, and at Christmas time... always busy!
    The tree at Rockefeller Center
We arrived early, and got a quick tour of the city from our bus driver... seeing the new building going up at the 911 site, and how much progress they've made, since it was just a year ago I was here!
    We...

Today Ryan would be 24 years old. It's hard to believe, since I only knew him as a sweet, small boy...
In keeping his memory alive I enjoy paying it forward throughout the day and sharing Ryan's story. This year we are also looking into building a scholarship for Ryan that will continue to keep his story and memory alive!
    one of my favorites
Happy Birthday Ryan, hope your getting lots of cake!

And so yesterday was the day I met one of my 2011 goals of running 1000 miles!
It was an awesome feeling, and I could have even cried, but didn't, as I finished running 10 miles, on the treadmill no less! And not only did I reach that goal, but I ran those 10 miles in 97 minutes, which is just shy a 10 minute mile, and for me, and 10 miles.... that's pretty darn good!
So now here I am on this...

    Ahh, some time to play...
I had an idea as soon as I looked at the January Work in Progress kit, and with my stash of mini books started to play.
I first painted the chipboard book with red paint, and then sprinkled with glitter, only to find I didn't like the look as much as I thought, so I painted another coat over that and fell in love.
and quotes are always my favorite to put a mini together...

Always a lot to be thankful for...
I feel very blessed with my family, and this year I'm feeling especially blessed with my husband. A man who does so much and asks for so little! It seems, the past few years that I have been running, he has picked up the slack in other areas, including that of Thanksgiving.
When we started making plans for the turkey trot there were 8 of us, and by the time the...

On Sunday I spent my entire day hauling up totes and covering every flat surface available throughout my kitchen, dining room and family room until every tote was empty. This alone is an overwhelming experience, not knowing where to start to make sense of it all... but somehow, every year, I go through the same thing, and know as I plug along, it will all come together.
    As things started taking shape,...

We have a wedding on New Year's Eve, and I plan to be the best that I can be by continuing my running, eating well and finding motivation through others, so I decided to join another challenge along with my running goals.
With 30 miles till I reach my 2011 goal of 1000 miles, yes, I ran another 6 miles yesterday! I may increase that goal and try and make it to 1100 mile for twenty-eleven.
    There...

Ran the turkey trot on Thanksgiving morning with Milt and Kristen. We met over at Milts gym and headed over so those two could get registered, I had already registered online a few days prior. With Milt having smashed his left foot, leaving it bruised and my left foot bothering me, we thought we would make one good runner out of the two of us.
So many people throughout Hinckley knew Milt and Kristen...
