Happy Anniversary to my husband Joel!

When I told Joel we were invited by my girlfriend to go out on their boat and to the lake house for the weekend, he was extremely reluctant. Fortunately it fell around the time of my birthday, so I used that for leverage and he agreed to go.

We interrupt this summertime blog post for this update... We are still in the month of June and I am thrilled to say we have: 
Completed all our yard workAdded a Pergula to the deck (done by Gordon)Added new lightingtook a vacation to South CarolinaCelebrated 3 kids graduating high school and college!And now with all of July and August left we get to enjoy our yard, deck and celebrate with friends!

It seems the kids and I do a lot together, but to get Joel away from the business doesn't happen quite as often. While he has gotten better about taking vacations, he still doesn't like to take too much time away from work. This year we took my mom with us to Hilton Head, and with her ailing memory, it too became a struggle for us at times. I'm not sure how many more trips we will be able to take...

There has been so much build up and planning until today at 3am when Chelsea and I drove to the airport and she began her journey at Wellspring California. Leading up to this departure we tried fitting it all in.

I've been missing my blog quite a bit lately. It has been my online journal for years now, and somehow I've fallen off of my regular updates.  A part of it is facebook, and a part of it is just my busy life, but I miss the days of writing and reading blogs, and I'm going back!
Crazy week, and I don't think I could fit in another thing...
After returning from vacation, I have one week to finish everything...

We are celebrating this year! With Chelsea graduating from college and Zach graduating from High School, its been a busy and wonderful May!

And so we have reached the 5th month and I have ran my 5th race at the Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon!  It was a good race, except for the heat and the flu bug that I came down with the night before which kept me from getting a good nights sleep.
This being my 3rd Rite Aid Cleveland half, I was able to see an improvement in my time over the three years.
2010 I ran the race in 2:26:252011...

Have you ever done something for a long time and not feel like there has been much improvement? Recently that's how I've been feeling with my running.  I've been trying to increase my speed, which I realize now has improved dramatically, but sometimes looking back at where we were makes things a whole lot clearer.
This weekend I'm running the Rite Aid Cleveland half marathon. Number 5 in my 12 in...

This year I had planned to achieve many different goals, but somehow my running has been taking over the majority of my time, and right now, it feels good, I need it and I'm okay with it.
Reaching 400 miles run on May 7th was a positive to add to my achievements as well as the 5 miles that day being run in 41:03
Having a friend that runs is also motivation, especially when we challenge one another...
