52 Weeks of gratitude: Week 13
Every morning I wake early and follow a routine of rituals created by me, for me, no exceptions, and, no excuses…
And today marks my 100-day streak of meditation. Which also coincides with the meditation app Calm’s “International calm day.” Where today the app is unlocked and free.
The idea came to me before the New Year, this quest for change. Tired of saying no to myself and yes to everyone else, I knew any transformation began with awareness and action from me.
Making small, doable changes I wake early to complete, leaving no opportunity for regret of why I could not keep a promise to myself.
And so with this prospect of change, I created a list of things I would complete each morning, my list of non-negotiable promises.
After completing a daily routine of reading, writing and strength exercises, I meditate. A practice I am continually uncovering; yet discovering more of its power each day. Some mornings begin at 4:30 to make it all fit and fulfilled in under an hour.
Purchasing a large wall calendar for the room I mark a red X across the day to symbolize another day I said yes to me. Creating a chain of truth to remind me of my pledge to myself and how far I have come.
There is so much power in saying yes to you, and I am proud of the ripple it creates while taking a stand for my well being each and every day.
