Wine tasting

For a few years now I've been talking of doing a wine tasting...

A get together with friends to socialize and talk about and try some wine. finally this year I decided to take action on my idea and I began picking things up on Etsy, Pier 1 and around town.

The first thing I needed to do was pick a date. Sounds easy, but with everyone's busy schedules I knew a weekend would be hard to find open for everyone, so I decided on Thursday, and since May isn't quite "summertime" yet, I found it to be the perfect time!

first stop was to pick up sample wine glasses. I found mine at Pier 1 and picked them up in small bunches since I didn't have an exact count yet.

While searching on Etsy I found my invitations here and she did an amazing job!

Also from Etsy I found little wine books for all my guests to use to take notes made here, she was awesome to work with as I had to add more to my original count!

One of the prizes for best wine were these adorable forks from Etsy again!!!

and one of my favorite things were the wine charms all the guests received with their names on them!

while I didn't pair food with each wine, I did try and include things I was sure with red or whites, like this chocolate fondue was located by the red tasting section.

other details included gift cards which I slit a wine cork open to hold the card as well as more wine charms.

I've already been asked if this will be an annual event and I'm seriously considering it!

Other details included wine bottles I painted with chalkboard paint and filled with color coordinating carnations to display by each wine choice, as well as place cards to mark wines and some of the food and water
