Unexpected Joy - Day 11

October 11, 2016

"In order to succeed we must first believe that we can" ~ Niko Kazantzakis

Last night my husband hung up my medal holder that had been in a drawer for years. There were always reasons not to hang it, since I did not know where to put it. Recently when I rescued it while cleaning I decided the time was right, this can be the necessary reminder of how far I have come.

This small souvenir of achievements became a reality in my actions, rekindling my capabilities and the belief necessary  to keep going.

Gazing at the medals collected in this year of running delivered a boost of unexpected joy, a reminder to the hard work  necessary to achieve my aspirations, displayed in a solid trophy of hope.

My season of running is not yet finished and this provided the perfect example to the promises we make to ourselves. There is always possibility and when we believe, we will always find unexpected joy.
