Also known as race number 10 in my 12 in 2012
Since April of this year we knew we were running this race, we knew we were two of the lucky 15,000 women that were chosen to run this race and to say we were thrilled would be putting it mildly! It has been one of our most looked forward to races.... ever!
With lots of family in San Francisco, we were able to begin planning early. All we needed was a place to stay the night of the race, a flight and to train.
The expo and packet pick up were located in Niketown and while the line wrapped around the building, it seemed to move quite efficiently... at least in the early part of the afternoon when we were there. After packet pick up there were several vendors inside to check out where you could get sample Luna bars, a cute container full of your choice of nuts from safeway, just to name a few...
finding our names listed on the walls outside Niketown
made me appreciate a last name starting with Z for the first time!
making our way to the start line
enjoying every sign on the road and all the scenery the city has to offer
stopping at every mile for a picture, we really enjoyed this race
There are no words to describe how wonderful this race was! In fact it was the best race I've ever run and I'm so thankful we were of the lucky lottery winners to get in!
and all these firemen with Tiffany necklaces sure helped sweeten the pot!
There is so much more about this race that needs to be blogged about, there is so much more about my week in California that I need to document. But right now teal is my favorite color and this "medal" is my favorite piece of jewelry!
