So many things can happen in a minute, in a day and especially in a week. One of many of the life changing weeks I've shared, was with my cousin who lives in California but had a week to give of herself to both Deb, my mom and myself. She is the best wife, mother and grandmother and cousin I've had to opportunity to know.
She and Deb were always close growing up and went through many of their tough times together. I remember Lisa spending time with our family and my father talking to her about going back to school to change her career, she went back to school and found her calling, she is a teacher.
But what she doesn't realize is how many years before she actually got the teaching credentials that she was already teaching me... sharing advice with me which got me to return to school, "the time is going to go by whether you do something or not, so why not look back a year later and see all you've accomplished"
Her calming influence has always been a great support with family and has always encouraged my mother in positive ways.
An afternoon in the kitchen proved to be more than just about the meal... and the wine! We had fun, she taught me things and we both encouraged my mom to try things with us.
While the miles are plenty between us, there is never a time that I feel distant from her. We maintain a friendship and genuine interest in each others lives.
So thank you Lisa for being you!
