Everybody needs a little time away

and that's just what we did for the Labor day weekend.  

It seems owning your own business means that you work there every possible day available, according to my husband.  So if I want him to get away from work I have to make plans to get away from the house.  He ALWAYS thanks me later too!

We went up to Lake Chautauqua in New York, a place my girlfriend had vacationed at earlier in the summer. Unbeknown to us we ended up staying at the same condos where the tornado had hit earlier in the summer.  

We had on and off rain on Saturday, but that didn't dampen our plans.  We even got Joel to the movie theater because of it, which is a feat in itself!  (We saw despicable me and he loved it!)

 Driving past this old hotel, I just loved the view on the porch.  So I had Joel stop the car so I could run up on the porch and take this shot.

We drove around the lake and went to lunch and dinner at a different restaurant each day, and on Sunday when the sun decided to return we headed off to Panama Rocks where we walked through this amazing landscape

It was a great getaway only a few hours away from home
