Stranger #5

     He is Zach's friend's father and we finally got to meet. He was a sweet and quiet man who doesn't complain.  He says why would I, you just make do with what you have.  He was born with Cerebral Palsy and says he can lift just about anything, he just can't walk well.  So he does the best he can.

My aunt and my cousin live in California and even being so many miles apart we have always remained close!  Recently they came to visit for a week!  A week of laughter, tears and memories shared, with lemonberry, picnics and walks in the park, a trip to Cook forest and oh so much more!

We started off with a visit to the Rock and Roll hall of fame, a picnic lunch and a trip to Edgewater park....

We grew up there...
Went there every summer for a few weeks staying with my grandfather in his cabin. He had remarried at the time so we were mostly cared for by my step grandmother Jean. My sister Debbie and cousin Lisa have LOTS of stories to share on all their trips to Grandpa's cabin.  Some, that looking back, were very cruel of our step grandmother. Its a good thing they find laughter in them...

     I did it; I stepped out of my comfort zone and stopped to visit the man up the road.  Everyday as we drive past his house he is sitting out front just watching the traffic go by.  The kids and I always comment on how we love this man, he reminds us to slow down in life and so today I slowed down and pulled in. I started training for the Chicago marathon just four weeks ago and I can't believe the difference it is already making in my running!

On a recent visit to the new Main Street Cupcakes in Medina I was privileged to meet Sarah. 
Besides for providing the best cup cakes in town Sarah's sweet disposition will capture your heart. When I asked her to share something about herself, I could see she was hesitant. She asked if it had to be happy, and I wondered what she meant? And then she shared the biggest heart breaker...

So far, summer has been quite busy! Lots of travel plans, family visits and the usual running activities planned.  But its great to know you can always fit your friends into your busy life! Recently Deb and Brenda came in for a two day visit and we all got to catch up at dinner.

We are blessed with a visit from my Aunt and cousin who came in from California for a week! We wanted to send them home with a little "Ohio", since they are originally from here.
My sister and I came up with a gift basket that included things ONLY made in Ohio and learned a lot while doing it.

we found coffee, candles, honey, hot pepper peach spread, maple syrup, malleys candies and so much more!
