You know I never really was a big Martha Stewart fan. I don't dislike her, I just never really watched her much. Now my sister - I think she's her clone, especially around the holidays! But after reading several posts about the glittered pumpkins I just had to try them.
During the day I picked up all the supplies I needed (although I ended up going to 3 craft stores before finding the glitter!), I visited Pat Catans and they only had craft glitter, the really big glitter. Then I went to Hobby Lobby and while they had more choices, they didn't have any orange or brown? So finally I ended up at Jo Anne's and thank goodness they had the fine glitter and several colors... my search was over!
When I got home from work I cleaned up the house and got dinner started and then began playing with the pumpkins. They were actually quite simple to do and if I would have had more time I would have done more but then it was back out to drop my mom's dogs off that we were dog sitting overnight.
Here are the supplies I needed: Picking up the paint and pearl medium at Catans and the glitter at JoAnne's
Here are the 3 pumpkins that I did complete! They are real pumpkins (the little ones like gourds)
Once we returned I was working with my Work in Progress kit - I even did some questions with the family for one of my "ideas" I'm working on. It was fun throwing out the questions and getting everyone's answers!
All was not lost in my trip to Hobby Lobby either! I found this cute little leather "basket" with handles and I envisioned all my mini books looking so cute in it. Plus to top it off they were 50% off, so this baby only cost $4! Now how could you beat that?
