  TOP FIVE FAVORITE BOOKS

I love reading so I have a lot of favorite books.  There are times that I check out Melissa Caligarri's blog. She usually writes notes about some of her favorites and there is nothing I hate more than to read a book and you can't get into it, its such a waste of time.  Like a bad movie...

I couldn't just pick 5 so here are my top 10 favorite: (in no particular order)

  1.  The five people you meet in heaven by Mitch Albom - Read this book after losing my brother and it meant so much to me!  I give it to everyone I know who goes through a loss.

  2.  Twelve Sharp by Janet Evanovich - something that made me laugh!

  3.  Memoirs of a geisha by Arthur Golden - Fascinating story

  4.  The time traveler's wife by Audrey Niffenegger - While I normally would not pick up a "science fiction" type book.  I really enjoyed reading this.  It was well written.

  5.  The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon -The story of an autistic boy who tries to solve why a dog was murdered in his neighbors front yard, and what he finds out through a child's view.

  6.  Running with Scissors: A Memoir by Augusten Burroughs - Sad, shocking, funny and true story.

  7.  To kill a mockingbird by Harper Lee - One of my all time favorites!

  8. The secret life of bees by Sue Monk Kidd

  9.  Three Junes by Julia Glass - Another book that goes through different times but makes them all connect.

10.  The Hours by Michael Cunningham - I chose this book because it had won the Pulitzer Price in 1999.  I wanted to see just what would win that prize.  The story was amazing how it all came together.

While some of these were made into movies that didn't do well, the books were amazing.  I never did see the movie versions.  I didn't want to ruin my feelings of the book or my vision of the characters.
