My weekly trip to Kent

September 30, 2008

It seems whenever I have the opportunity to go visit Chelsea I jump at it!  She doesn't have any classes on Tuesday so it's a nice day for us to hang out for a bit and go to lunch.  I'm still getting used to the fact of her being at college and while some parts are getting easier, other's stay the same...

however I am so thankful for the relationship we share!  We talk about just about ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING, she shares her ups and downs, triumphs and defeats and all the other bumps in the road of life.  Our relationship has grown over the years to something I had never imagined.  She's a smart, beautiful and down to earth girl who cares about what's important in life.

And it hasn't been an easy road for her.  As a child my first loss was my grandfather, I was about 14 years old.

For Chelsea she lost her brother, both grandfathers, her Uncle, a friend to cancer and another in a drowning accident all before turning 14 years old.  That's a lot for any adult to deal with, let alone a child. It is those experiences which made her the generous and caring person that she is today.

So whatever time we can share together we will, and I will treasure it...

She's a little bit of sunshine, She's a smile to light your days, She will steal your heart and keep it With her warm endearing ways, She's your precious little daughter, With a sweetness from above Who will fill your years with laughter And your life with lots of love

As for my weekend projects, I got so much accomplished with both my Work in Progress kit and finishing up some other projects, it felt good to get back in the swing of things.

I can't wait to post my projects along with uploading all the girls work at the flickr site tomorrow.  I just love what everyone did with their kit this month... so fun!
