The good the bad and the ugly...
Thank goodness for family, friends and those distractions that get us through the rough patches in our life and remind us to smile.
Went to visit my aunt again today and while we try to keep it upbeat, you can see her decline as the weeks go by. Today we talked about patience... something my sister always jokes that she didn't get much of. My aunt however, had a lot of patience as well as her mom; my grandmother. My aunt talked about my grandmothers laugh today, and I could hear the laugh in my head. Even with her life as tough as it was, my grandmother still could laugh. She remembered a story when my grandmother dropped a whole pot of spaghetti on the floor and instead of getting angry... she laughed. Isn't that what we all should be doing. You know the whole "don't sweat the small stuff" and really it is all "small" stuff that you don't recognize as small until you're dealing with the BIG stuff!
Chels, Deb and I after lunch... Auntie get in the picture!
I was glad we were able to find some laughs after a somber day...
