What do you do when you feel overwhelmed with life?
There are days when I feel like life is falling in on me from so many directions, forging me into something new. I've always been a journaler, and as these struggles continue to shape me. My writing has given me more strength as my words teach me and hopefully others, and that part I like.
Problems are our opportunity to find our strengths and to utilize them. We can lash out at others and blame them or we can look inward and find strength from the conflict.
Along with my journaling I spend a lot of my free time reading. Everything from fiction to non fiction to self help and one of my favorites "Jesus Calling", daily readings to remind me to live one day at a time and trust that he knows what I need.
Many of my struggles in life have been beyond my control! The loss of those so close to me, the heartache, illness and sadness, all things if we had a choice, we wouldn't have chosen. They continue to mold me, shape me and teach me. Many things some will never understand, compassion you don't get without heartache, love you don't truly understand without loss, and the pain of watching those you love suffer is a lesson all in its own.
Each day I get up with a new found passion to learn from the experiences I am going through. Some days I fall, some times I stumble, but I always do my best to get back up and remember the blessings I do have.
My sister teaches me patience and laughter. Jane, the strongest woman I know, never feeling pity for herself, surviving struggles with a positive attitude and laughter. These are just a few of the battles I witness in a day, things we can all learn from.
