The day arrives and leaves quicker than we had planned!
We had a blast last night over Gordon and Deb's. Nothing was rushed everyone seemed to arrive ready to enjoy the evening. We did lots of chatting, eating and playing games.
To begin we played our usual gag gift game, which needed a 2nd table to be brought in to fit all the fun gifts. After that was finished we did our exchange. This year was our 2nd year to do the three $5 gifts. We drew names earlier in the month and brought 3 gifts for our chosen names. Five dollars went a long way and some people were really inventive in their purchases... more fun for sure!
As we all arrived... we slowly dispersed as the evening went by. When we went to pull out we found Chelsea's car stuck in their grass which took Joel, Ben and Bill to push out. At home Chelsea wanted us each to open one gift from her ($50 to Christopher & Banks for me, $50 to Longhorn for Joel and a couple of t-shirts for Zach) and then the kids went to bed quickly and Joel and I finished up the details we needed before calling it a night.
The kids were up early and ready to begin the day by 6:45 am. You would think it would get later the older they get... but that wasn't the case this year?
The day just seemed to fly by as we opened gifts, cleaned up the house and got ready for everyone to arrive for breakfast. Joel cooked 3 lbs of bacon, 4 dozen eggs, pancakes, sausage and 2 loaves of bread. There were some left overs, though not many.
As for gifts...
We got the Wii as a family gift, Chelsea got a lot of gift cards for clothes and some clothes and purses that she had previously picked out, Zach got his Guitar Hero III and games for Xbox 360 and a digital camera, Joel also got a digital camera, clothes and tools and I got a portable HP printer and my lens, plus a gift card for Kohls!!!!
What a great two days, though it feels like it should be midnight and its only 7pm?
