“Reading with Ryan”
Book drive
There are many little ways to enlarge your child's world. Love of books is the best of all.”
Jacqueline Kennedy
As the years pass, our memories of Ryan continue to live on as vividly as the day they happened. One of our most beautiful memories would be Ryan's love for reading. Books such as If you give a mouse a cookie and classic Dr. Seuss like, One fish, two fish filled his days with fun and sparked his imagination. That is why this year we are thrilled to be holding a book drive in memory of Ryan's life.
All summer I had this idea of building a library at the hospital, books for kids that stay there and books for kids to take home and once I talked to the child life specialist at Metro she couldn’t agree more. There is such a need for books for kids of all ages, and what better gift to share then his love of reading and being read to.
Please help by donating new or gently used books for ages 0-21. Series like Twilight, Harry Potter and others that you know your teen has enjoyed are often requested at the hospital. As always monetary donations are welcome as well, make checks payable to Metro Hospital Child life Foundation
