Sometimes life can make us forget the little things, those things we should be grateful for everyday.
It is not about the possessions you have or the status you are trying to reach, although setting goals can help us learn all this along the way. When you truly stop and observe the world around you, there is so much beauty we just expect to be there each day, but do we really notice it?
There are days when the sunset is so brilliant and I think wow I need to remember that, or the dew that hasn't burned away from the sun captures the beauty in a single spider web.
Reading "Mans search for meaning by Victor Frankl" reminded me of the abilities of man, of us...
"Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.”― Viktor E. Frankl
And so I began a grateful journal to stop and notice the everyday wonders. We all have tough things, people and situations to deal with in our lives. But we can choose how we respond to them, or not responding to them. And instead find the beauty that is constantly surrounding us.
I spent the day with Debbie helping her make a grateful banner for the month of November and realized this could be something we practice not just in November, but everyday.
Thank you Rose for giving me the creative boost I needed and sending me the flyer to get us started on this thankful journey! If you would like to find gratefulness in November or in everyday, and want to record on this banner, you can get it through stampin up.
Be grateful... it feels good!
