a weekend to note…

Our weekend started early when we left for the Columbus zoo on Friday morning before heading over to Ohio State to see the state track meet for qualifications. 

The Columbus zoo is one of my favorites and in the past few years I have been to it more than the Cleveland zoo.  It looks beautiful and each exhibit flows to the next.  Plus there is an awesome aquarium and in this trip we also got to see the baby elephant.

We left the zoo and headed over to Ohio State to watch the state track qualifying race which Shawn qualified for 3 events.  The 100, 200 and boys 4 X 1 relay race.

It was fun for us all to cheer Shawn and the other Buckeye boys on while they attempted to qualify for State.  In the end, the boys 4 X 1 relay would qualify to the Saturday race.  Shawn ran some of his best times and I know next year, his senior year will be amazing!

Yesterday I spent the day finishing up some layouts.  Making titles and journaling.  I hope to do more of the same today with a little yard work thrown in before it rains.
